Seeing a need for easier access to a lake ruled by motorboats, Greenwood Lake Paddleboards came into being in June of 2013 as a reservation-based side business on Greenwood Lake. After seeing how much of an interest the area has in the sport, it became a full-time business in the summer of 2014. In the Spring of 2015 the business moved its base from Greenwood Lake to Monksville Reservoir, which had been our most popular delivery spot the prior two years. We love how tranquil and beautiful the Reservoir is, and we think you will too!
Chaz is a woodworker who specializes in wooden boat building and restoration, and has also done fiberglass repair. He became interested in paddleboards after fixing a few along the way; realizing how great they would be for all kinds of people who wanted to explore the local waterways without a motor. He is a certified instructor by Paddlefit, and teaches both private and group lessons.
Theresa is a West Milford native. She grew up hiking and learning the area's history from her father, who used to give tours at Long Pond Ironworks, the historical village on the opposite side of the reservoir. She became interested in yoga as a teenager, and believes her regular practice is why she found her balance so quickly in learning to paddleboard. She is also a licensed acupuncturist and values the therapeutic value of paddling on the body, mind and spirit.
Husband-wife team Chaz & Theresa live in Greenwood Lake with their two hound dogs, and feel very lucky to get to spend their summer days on the water.
Thanks for supporting small business! We look forward to seeing you!
